A few months ago I went to a Murder City Devils show and saw the best opening opening act I have ever seen. That’s right. They were the first of two openers. And they were good enough to have been the headliners (of course assuming the headliner was not Murder City Devils. All respect.) The band was Cold Lake.

I just discovered that we the people can be a part of helping Cold Lake fund their first album through Kickstarter. It is basically like pre-ordering different versions of the album for very reasonable prices. For instance you can pledge $5 for a digital download when the album comes out or you can pledge $25 for a “total ridiculous collector scum 7″ box set. Five lathe-cut 7″ records. Includes lossless download. May or may not include bonus track(s).”

That’s not all. If you want to pledge even more money you can attend a practice with the band (they provide the beer) or even hire them to play a private show.
