I usually think that slightly crooked teeth give faces some character, and in a good way. But I’m a hypocrite and I’ve looked into getting my front teeth straightened. That’s about as far as it’s gone, though, because I don’t want to have a lot of metal in my mouth, and the quote I got from my dentist for the clear braces was $6000. Now, there’s another option: the Inman Aligner.
It’s kind of a hybrid between the clear braces and metal braces. They are only useful for straightening the front teeth, but if that’s all you need done, they work much faster (treatments generally last from 6 to 16 weeks), and they are much less expensive than clear braces. On a UK cosmetic dentistry website, they say you can expect to pay between £1000 to £1500, which is approximately $2000 to $3000 in US dollars. Apparently this orthodontic appliance has been around since 2000, and was invented by a dentist in the US. I’ll definitely have to ask my dentist about this.
